Sea Smoke is a Talaria 55 Flybridge Jet Boat with twin Man V12 engines, 2 helm stations, and a customized hydraulic swim platform to accommodate ease of boarding from directly aft or from either side, is wheelchair and walker accessible, and can store a yacht tender.

Her spacious interior accommodations below include master stateroom, guest stateroom, two full heads, and galley. Interior woodwork is satin finished cherry with gloss highlights, varnished teak and tulipwood sole with soundproofing, carpet and covers. In the salon the lower helm is to starboard followed by port and starboard settees, all with tan Ultraleather custom covered cushions. The entertainment center to port features a television on an electric lift and Bose stereo system with speakers throughout the vessel.

In the cockpit are a comfortable cushioned L-shaped stern seat, custom stairs to the flybridge, and custom transom door to a versatile teak-soled swim platform.

Up in the flybridge to starboard is the helm with 2 Stidd helmsman chairs and an L-shaped Ultraleather cushioned seat and dining table.  To port is another cushioned settee. The hard top with skylights not only offers shade but also supports all antennas, radars, horns, a spotlight, and an attachable isinglass enclosure.

Sea Smoke was built with many custom features and options to accommodate her one owner, David Rockefeller, who has enjoyed several sail and power Hinckley yachts over the years. She is very well built and has been professionally maintained, upgraded, sailed and enjoyed by many family members and guests along the Maine coast. We recommend her highly as a one-of-a-kind luxury yacht.

The Talaria 55 Jet is constructed using Hinckley's DualGuard Composite Construction and the patented SCRIMP process. Hinckley's DualGuard Composite Construction has a skin coat of chopped E-Glass mat in low-shrink vinylester resin, an outer skin of Kevlar/E-glass, a core of aircraft-grade balsa and high-density foam, and an inner skin of carbon. The chopped E-Glass and vinylester resin provide a superior surface finish and a greater resistance to water osmosis. Dupont's Kevlar/E-Glass fabric greatly increases the strength of the hull against damage caused by impacts. The core of aircraft-grade balsa provides the greatest degree of stiffness and thermal/acoustic insulation possible. The inner skin of carbon is used for its superior stiffness and strength-to-weight ratios.

In hull/deck connecting flange, jet grates, and all through-hull fittings, the core is eliminated and the hull is reinforced with additional layers of fiberglass. A reinforcement stringer system of carbon is inserted into the hull and the completed laminate--the hull and stringer system--is then SCRIMPed. The patented SCRIMP process--an advanced, closed-molding, resin-infused technique--uses a strong vacuum to saturate or infuse the 'sandwich' with vinylester resin in a single step. Marelon ball-valve type seacocks are then installed flush with the hull. The hull shell is supported by a combination of foam-cored FRP stiffeners and structural bulkheads. The stiffeners are laminated into the primary hull structure.

The deck consists of a molded cabin house, pilothouse, side decks, and cockpit. All parts are constructed with materials similar to those in the hull with the exception that there is not any carbon fiber or Kevlar.  In way of through-bolted hardware and deck fittings, the skin thickness is increased and the core is replaced by higher density core or deleted altogether, according to the nature of the load. The boat's interior bulkheads as well as its own internal stiffeners support the deck. The walking surfaces of the deck and cabintop have a non-skid pattern molded into the laminate. All exposed surfaces are finished with gelcoat.

The Opacmare hydraulic swim platform is customized with a passerelle underneath that extends the platform port and starboard.

Flybridge is a molded core combination of high density core and Corecell core fiberglass unit, which is through-bolted to the pilothouse top. The flybridge hard top is molded fiberglass and all electronics antennas are mounted on top, supported by aluminum framework.

Topsides are Awlgripped with Red Mahogany (reapplied in 2015 with clear coating), Deck assembly is Light Cream gelcoat, Double Boot Top is Cream, and black bottom paint.
